Demo Hire Terms & Conditions

Version 1.0 · August 2026

1. About RacketMatch

RacketMatch provides padel rackets for customers to demo before deciding which racket best suits their game. Rackets are available for collection from Esher and, where agreed, delivery to selected local clubs.

2. Booking and payment

A booking is confirmed once RacketMatch has confirmed the rackets and hire period and payment has been received.

The hire period begins at the agreed collection or delivery time and ends at the agreed return time.

The applicable hire fee will be the price communicated to you at the time of booking.

3. Security pre-authorisation

As part of the booking process, RacketMatch may place a temporary pre-authorisation on your payment card as security for the rackets provided.

This is not normally a charge and, provided the rackets are returned in accordance with these terms, the pre-authorisation will be released. The time taken for the funds to become available again may depend on your card provider.

Where a racket is lost, stolen or damaged beyond minor wear as a result of misuse, negligence or failure to take reasonable care of it, RacketMatch may seek to recover the reasonable cost of repair, reduction in value or replacement in accordance with these terms.

4. Using the rackets

Demo rackets are provided for normal recreational padel use only.

Customers agree to take reasonable care of the rackets and must not deliberately modify or alter them.

Demo rackets may carry discreet identification and/or security markings. Customers must not remove, alter or tamper with these markings, racket protectors or other identifying features.

Rackets must not be lent, hired or otherwise passed to another person without RacketMatch’s agreement.

5. Damage, loss and theft

The customer is responsible for taking reasonable care of the rackets throughout the hire period.

Minor wear arising from normal padel play is expected and will not be charged.

Damage beyond minor wear — including significant chips, dents, cracks, deep scratches or other substantial cosmetic or structural damage — may result in a charge where the damage has arisen through misuse, negligence or failure to take reasonable care of the racket.

Where damage can reasonably be repaired, RacketMatch may charge the reasonable cost of repair. Where the damage materially reduces the condition or value of the racket, RacketMatch may charge a reasonable amount reflecting that reduction in value. Where a racket is lost, stolen or damaged beyond economic repair, RacketMatch may charge the reasonable replacement value of the racket, taking account of its age and condition immediately before the hire.

Customers should notify RacketMatch as soon as reasonably possible if a racket is lost, stolen or significantly damaged.

6. Returns

Rackets must be returned at the agreed time and location so they can be made available for the next customer.

If you expect to be late, please contact RacketMatch as soon as possible. Where a late return materially affects another booking, RacketMatch reserves the right to charge a reasonable additional hire fee.

7. Cancellations

If you need to cancel or change a booking, please contact RacketMatch as soon as possible.

Where reasonable notice is provided and the rackets have not yet been collected or delivered, RacketMatch will normally offer a rescheduled booking or refund.

Nothing in these terms affects any cancellation or refund rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

8. Use of the rackets and liability

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they are fit to play padel and for using the rackets safely and appropriately.

RacketMatch is not responsible for injury, loss or damage arising from the normal risks associated with playing padel, improper use of the rackets, failure to follow reasonable instructions, or circumstances outside RacketMatch’s reasonable control.

RacketMatch will not be liable for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when the booking was made.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits RacketMatch’s liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

9. Recommendations

Any racket recommendations made by RacketMatch are intended to help customers narrow down their choices based on the information they provide and are subjective. The purpose of the demo service is to allow customers to test rackets themselves before deciding what suits them.

10. Personal information

RacketMatch uses customer information to manage enquiries, bookings, payments and the demo service. Further information is contained in our Privacy Notice.

11. Acceptance

By confirming a booking and paying the demo fee, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
